A journey from Sunday School to the Church
Protestantism is considered to be the belief and practice in the Christianity. It was movement that began in northern Europe in the early 16th century as a reaction to medieval Roman Catholic doctrines and practices. Very soon it was merged as a religious force with Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. Protestantism has always come up with significant changes in the social, economic, political, and cultural life of the area. There are number of churches that are working on this domain and one of the famous protestant churches in United States is Peachtree Presbyterian Church.
History: Peachtree Presbyterian Church is one of the largest church in Atlanta, Georgia, US. This is one of the largest in terms of number of members and has an old history back from 1910. The church lately completed a building project which expands the campus to 26 total acres with facilities on both sides of Roswell Road in the growing Buckhead area of Atlanta. The church has witnessed the long history from Sunday school to the Protestantism practices. However the church establishment was performed in 1919. Peachtree Presbyterian Church stands in the hearth of Atlanta Churches and it witnesses to the glory of God and for the service of the mankind.
Core Values: Protestantism is the heart of the practice and the church people believes and claim to be the Christians to by name but to be Christians only by following the Bible only. From inception till date the community wellbeing is in the heart of the church mandate and the is the reason Peachtree Presbyterian Church has strong relationships with the home shelters, Community center, Atlanta police and the people working for the wellbeing the society. - Authority of Scripture (Bible is the exclusive and trustworthy Word of God, which teaches all that is necessary for faith and life).
- Presbyterian: (The heart of teaching and the way a church is structured and operated).
- Evangelical: (The relationship with the Jesus, change the life).
- Missional: (God has mission and reconciliation of people make it work).
Mission: The church works on the missions and the service for the community. They believe and engage the Peachtree community in God’s work and for them the God work is the development, poverty reduction, harmony and peace in the society and the surroundings as well. They exclusively worked with the mission of anti-trafficking, development, education, and relief. When this mission is proficient, transformation occurs both in our lives and the lives of those that we serve.
Focus Group: Every church has their focus group and in Peachtree Presbyterian Church the workforce work for the development and care of the vulnerable children in the community. These children are under the age of 21 that are unable and are unable to become who God created them and that is where the church plays the critical role in flourishing their lives. Apart from the community welfare the church works on the global level as well and they are exclusively working for children who are suffering from the war and terror.
The church has come up with the various vulnerable groups; whereas children, women and even elderly people are part of the community in a way that they are helping the other vulnerable group by joining the hands of the church. There are multiple options of connecting with the people of your interest group and even charity and giveaway is also there.
